The singer handpicked co-star Rafi Gavron for the role of her boyfriend after seeing him in 'Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist.' "In choosing our leading man, I wanted it to be someone that was genuinely a rough-around-the-edges kinda guy," she told Celebuzz. "Manicured 'pretty boys' needed NOT apply."
In the clip, JoJo is dating a motorcycle-riding dude, who goes from sweet to sour fast, so it was important for the pop star to find the right fit. "[Rafi] embodied the edge and rugged sexiness that I wanted my guy to have," she added. "I wanted him to feel a bit like a bad boy from Boston, and although Rafi is from the UK, he pulled it off perfectly."
'Disaster' is the first single from JoJo's forthcoming new album, 'Jumping Trains,' which is set to arrive in early 2012. Her last album, 'The High Road,' was released in 2006, following her successful 2004 self-titled debut.
