Taylor Lautner is opened up about one of the most controversial scenes in Breaking Dawn: Part One at the press junket for the movie in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

"I was really excited about this one," he said. "Jacob, he becomes a man in this one and he has to make a lot of decisions. It was really tough, it was by far the most challenging one for me."

As for one of the most challenging scenes in the film, it was definitely where he had to "imprint" on Bella's baby, Renesmee. In werewolf lore, imprinting means you instantly fall in love with the person you're meant to be with, which in this case... was a baby.

"That was tough because, 'What is imprinting?'" he said. "What do you look like when you imprint? Those were all the questions going through my head."

Luckily, 'Twilight' author Stephenie Meyer was on the set to answer his questions. "Trust me, I asked her a million times," he said.

But when it came time to actually do the scene, he revealed it was actually just an 'X' on the wall and he was told that 'X' was Renesmee and he had to imprint on it. "After seeing the final version, I'm really happy with it," he said.

As for the overall concept of imprinting, Taylor admitted it confused him when he first read the book.

"He's trying to get Bella the whole time and he strikes out so he gets with her child?"

Now about that rumored indie role in a Gus Van Sant movie that MTV reported recently. "He is a very, very talented director who I've always looked up to," he said. "It's very premature, so I don't have much to say now [other than I really want to work with him]."

When asked if there was a script based on an article from The New Yorker, he confirmed there was one "floating around." 'Breaking Dawn: Part One' opens on November 18th.
