Taylor Swift has a new obsession, and it's not a boy. The country star recently got a new kitten, who she named Meredith.

Taylor introduced her feline friend to the world when she tweeted a photo of her on Thursday. "Hanging out with my new roommate, Meredith," the 21-year-old wrote along with the oh-so-adorable pic.

Along with the many seals of approval the singer received from fans, one of her celebrity BFFs also chimed in to gush over Taylor's new pet. "OH MY GOSH. Is this kitty for real?!?!" Katy Perry wrote, adding, "I want to cuddle that kitten so hard!"

"YES!" Taylor replied to the 'Teenage Dream' singer. "And currently chasing her own tail. PS I miss you!"

We can't blame Katy for her reaction. Taylor tweeted another pic of Meredith, this time with herself in the shot, that makes us want to nominate her for Cutest Cat Ever. In fact, we wouldn't be surprised if Meredith ended up with a song (or two) on Taylor's next album. What do you think of the country singer's new pet?
