Lauren Alaina had an embarrassing moment last week when she flubbed the words to 'The Star-Spanged Banner' on Thanksgiving Day. The 'American Idol' runner-up sang the song in front of a packed stadium, before the NFL match-up between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers.
The 17-year-old got off to a good start, but botched the second line. When she realized she messed up, she froze and stopped singing all together. Although it was only a few seconds before she picked up again, we can only assume Lauren was mortified.
Still, she was backed by the support of her fans, as well as fellow 'Idol' alum Kellie Pickler, who tweeted, "HEY DOLL! YOU HANDLED YOURSELF LIKE A PRO! SEND THE BULLIES MY WAY & I'LL TELL EM' WHERE TO GO!"
Lauren replied, "Thank you so much. I'm not a robot. I have No excuses. I messed up. You know what can ya do. At Least didn't fall down again." Way to look on the bright side, girl! Watch Lauren's Thanksgiving Day performance below.
