Glee is back. And we're not just talking about the show's winter premiere last night. We mean the show is back in top form. It hurts us to admit this, but our interest in the show had waned a bit over the past few months. Story lines seemed implausible, the music was so-so, not to mention the downright bizarre Christmas episode (the black and white was cool at first, but then things just got weird with Kurt bidding for Elizabeth Taylor's jewelry online from a ski chalet in Switzerland). We went from needing to watch the show live, to watching it on Hulu the next day, to watching it on the weekends.
But last night's episode changed it all.
From the surprisingly delightful Real Housewives of Atlanta guest star Nene Leakes, to Lea Michele's AMAZING cover of David Guetta and Usher's Without You (Lea's version is currently number #1 on iTunes singles list), Sue Sylvester wearing Beatrice's hat from the royal wedding and the cast's version of Rihanna's We Found Love... it was perfect. Perfect, perfect, perfect.
SPOILER ALERT: Stop reading if you haven't watched the episode yet and don't want to know how it ended. Mr. Schue proposed to Emma, with the help of a truly awesome synchronized swimming number and then in the shocker of all shockers, Finn proposes to Rachel (who wouldn't after being sung to like she sang Without You to him?). The episode ends by taking a page out of the New Moon playbook. Finn says, "Will you marry me?" and Lea gasps. And fade to black. Too much! We loved it, what about you?
