Vanessa Hudgens will go to great lengths to get into character, even if that means giving up her glam life. In a new interview with Rachael Ray, the actress reveals that lived in a homeless shelter for two weeks to prep for her new movie, 'Gimme Shelter.'

"For 'Gimme Shelter,' my character ends up at this pregnant, homeless teen shelter that's actually ran in New Jersey by a woman, and I actually went and stayed in the shelter for two weeks before I started filming," the 23-year-old tells the talk show host.

She continues, "So I mean, like, I lived there with all the girls, with all the kids, so I think that it's really interesting because you find so much more about yourself."

Vanessa also stars in the upcoming film with Rosario Dawson, adding that they "both look so messed up in this movie."

'Gimme Shelter' is slated to be released this year, and fans can catch Vanessa's full interview on 'Rachael Ray' on Friday, February 10.
