Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino Checks Into Rehab

'Jersey Shore' star Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino has checked himself into a treatment center in order to get help for his addiction to prescription pills.

The 29-year-old confirmed on Wednesday that chose to go to rehab "to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion."

The MTV star tweeted, "Don't believe everything you read or hear," along with a link to an official statement that he wrote to "set the record straight."

"I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion," the statement reads. "I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule. I appreciate my fans support and love you guys."
