What happens when your high school history class becomes BFFs with Twilight? What happens when your high school history class becomes BFFs with Twilight? You get Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
Mixing one of America's most revered presidents and the creepiness (and sexiness!) of vampires into one, this movie's TV previews had a lot of us asking, "Did I really just see what I think I saw?"
Well, you did, and don't be alarmed: We were confused too...Abe Lincoln and vampires, what?!
But then we met up with the movie's cast and creators on the red carpet, where they totally explained the movie's origin, plot and why vampires were such a necessary part of the film.
Seth Grahame-Smith, who wrote the novel the movie is based on and the screenplay, told us how he came up with the idea.
"I thought, 'Well, there's a lot of books about Lincoln and a lot of books about vampires, why aren't there any about both?'"
Hmmm. There are a lot of books about George Washington and a lot of books about superheros too. We're still confused, but we're going to just go with it because it looks really fun!
In the movie Honest Abe's on a mission to stop vampires from taking over the United States.
Benjamin Walker plays an awesome Lincoln, speaking and looking just like him and according to his co-star Robin McLeavy he seriously "gives Robert Pattinson a run for his money" with those ax skills.
See the cast talk vampire sexiness and peep the rest of our 'Abe' interviews in the video above!
And don't forget to check out Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter when it hits theaters this Friday!
