We were so excited to catch up with the Step Up Revolution cast to get the scoop on what makes this film--the fourth in the dance movie franchise--the most heartfelt and heart pumping one yet.
"With dance movies you wants something new and different," says director Scott Speer. "Every time the audience goes to see a Step Up movie, they're like 'so, impress me.'"
Choreographer Jamal Sims knows how to go there. "You can make people feel with dance. You can make them laugh, make them cry. If they want to say something, you can make them feel it with movement."
Step Up Revolution star Kathryn McCormick can't believe what a connection the fans have to the film. "People sit at home who have never danced a day in their life but they feel connected--they feel a part of something!"
And her co-star Ryan Guzman feels the same about being a part of this unique franchise--one that Channing Tatum kicked off by starring in the very first Step Up movie.
But make no mistake, Ryan isn't looking follow in Channing's exact footsteps.
"I definitely want to make my own career," Ryan explains. "It's definitely cool that [Channing and I] are in the same franchise together and I want a career that's similar--but I want to have my own path."
Ryan, however, is keeping up with his "competition."
"I saw Magic Mike," he admits. "There was more nudity in it than I thought!"
Are you excited for Step Up Revolution? Will you be seeing it when it opens on Friday?
