Justin Bieber took to Twitter to share his heartbreak over the passing of "Mrs. Bieber," 6-year-old Avalanna Routh, who lost her battle with cancer.

Justin and Avalanna had a special friendship, as they continued to keep in touch with Skype and Facetime.

Following the news of Avalanna's death, Justin shared his sadness with fans on Twitter, writing: "just got the worst news ever. one of the greatest spirits i have ever known is gone. please pray for her family and for her."

He added, "RIP Avalanna. i love you" and tweeted a link to the Cure AT/RT Now website, "a community for those fighting Atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumors."

Justin asked fans to pray and said he missed Mrs. Bieber, tweeting: "please show respect to her and her family. say a prayer for her and for them. i miss her"
