2011 X Factor U.K. winners, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards, may be known as Little Mix, but there's nothing petite about what they're pulling off.
"We basically wanted to make it as versatile as possible," said Jesy when we asked about their debut album, DNA. "We're all into different music. Leigh-Anne is into old school R&B, I'm into R&B, Jade's Mo-Town and Perrie is old-school rock." Cool, we love the idea behind four musically different people in one group!
The thoughtful girls always puts their fans first. "We wrote songs like 'Wings' and 'Change Your Eyes,' songs that we knew our fans would love," Leigh-Anne explained.
We know the girls have been promoting their debut album like crazy but is it too soon to ask about their next album? Nope!
"We're going to start the second album next year, we've got so many ideas for it," said the girls, "We want to make every song better than the last."
With four different backgrounds, who would a group like Little Mix want to collaborate with? Jesy told us, "I think one of our mains as a group would be someone like Nicki Minaj." That would be a lot of female energy on one terrific track.
They've surprised fans time and again. What has surprised them? "I think every single time something happens. We're so overwhelmed by it; we just take everything as a compliment," Jade said graciously.
"To even be in this position now, we never thought a year back that we'd be doing this. We all had really normal jobs, normal lives. We can't even remember winning the X Factor. It was such a blur to be honest!"
"Every time we do something, whether it's a gig or even now, like a U.S phoner [interview], it's like, 'Are we really getting into American magazines?' Every day is kind of overwhelming," said the girls.
We have a feeling they better get used to the attention!
