Did Jennifer Lawrence slam Meryl Streep in her Golden Globes speech? Jennifer Lawrence took home the Golden Globes 2013 win for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical--and seemed to diss national treasure Meryl Streep during her acceptance speech.

Some took offense to Jennifer's disrespectful boasting about beating out Meryl, but there is an explanation for the comment.

Jennifer started her speech by saying, "Oh, what does it say? 'I beat Meryl!'"

As you imagine, not everyone was so enamored by the comment, but JLaw reportedly was making a little funny, with a bit of a shout out to the movie The First Wives Club, according to Access Hollywood.

Whether Jennifer was just trying to make a certainly nerve-wracking and exciting experience a little funnier or she really did reference First Wives Club, she did have mad love for co-star Bradley Cooper, saying, "You're incredible, and you made me better every single day."

We can't wait to hear what Meryl Streep has to say about Jennifer's comment...something tells us she'll find it pretty funny too.
