In last night's episode, the girls sing solo and the judges make their final picks for the female top 20 Hollywood Week on American Idol drew to a close last night as the remaining ladies sang solo for their spot in the top 20. For their performances, the contestants could sing a song from the list or perform their own original material.
For Angela Miller, who sang her own song called "You Set Me Free" and played piano, that paid off and even earned her a standing ovation from the judges. For Kez Ban, who also performed her own song, it got her sent packing.
Two girls had to sing again with the band for the judges to make their final decision: Stephanie Schimel stays and Rachel Hale goes.
But our favorite moment from last night came courtesy of a guy, not a girl. The judges asked Adam Sanders and Josh Halliday to have a sing off as well. And during Josh's soulful version of "Georgia On My Head", he split his white pants open down the inseam. "We won't forget that one," Nicki Minaj quipped.
Indeed! So the field gets narrowed to the top 20 girls and top 20 guys, who make the final 40. And then Ryan Seacrest delivers more good news: they're going to Vegas for next week's episode!
