Britney Spears said that the death of a former Mouseketeer was "great," but there's more to the story... Britney SpearsOops! She did it again...

Britney Spears put her foot in her mouth yesterday when TMZ asked her, "What do you think of the passing of Annette Funicello....fellow Mouseketeer?" and Britney smiled and responded with "I think that's great...."

Wait, what?!

Turns out, Britney didn't hear the question and was just trying to be polite to the pap, so she gave a generic answer to what she thought the question was.

Britney felt awful about the whole misunderstanding and took to her Twitter to explain herself.

"Misheard a question I was asked earlier by press while I was out and about. I am DEVASTATED to hear about the passing of Annette Funicello," she wrote.

She then followed that up with another message about Annette, saying, "She was a role model for me during my days as a Mousketeer. #Heartbroken."

Definitely makes more sense, especially since the sweet pop singer doesn't seem to have a mean bone in her body!

Do you think it was wrong of TMZ to post this video since Britney clearly misunderstood the question?
