After surrendering her seats on the judges' panel to Shakira for season four of The Voice, Christina Aguilera has signed a contract to return for season five. We've got some bad news for Shakira fans...Christina Aguilera wants her spot back on The Voice!
The veteran judge took season four off so that she could focus on releasing her new album, Lotus, but now she's ready to pick up where she left off with the popular singing competition.
According to TheWrap, Christina has already signed a $12.5 million deal to return for the fifth season and Cee Lo Green is in negotiations to take his chair back from Usher as well.
The Voice producer told HollywoodLife why they need to switch up the judges' panel every once in awhile. "Everybody can't coach for life," he said. "They all have another life and their schedules."
Xtina reportedly earned $17 million for season three of the show, but sources say that despite the lower number on the contract, she could still earn that much for season five, depending on how many hours she appears since the judges are all paid by the hour.
Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are currently negotiating their season five contracts as well, so it looks like they'll both be returning alongside Christina...now it's just Cee Lo's seat that is in question.
Are you sad that Shakira is going to be gone next season?
