While it was confirmed that Christina Aguilera would be taking her seat back from Shakira on The Voice, Cee Lo Green hadn't made his move to return...until now! Cee Lo Green will be returning for season five of The Voice!
NBC has officially confirmed that he and Christina Aguilera will be taking their seats back from Usher and Shakira, who were filling in for them during season four.
"We locked in a plan several months ago to have the outstanding Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green rejoin Blake and Adam for cycle 5, and we're pleased to announce that the original four coaches are going to be back together in the fall," NBC's President of Alternative and Late Night Programming said in a press release.
The network also acknowledged the role that the veteran judges played in the success of the show, saying, "They're the reason this show was launched so strong for the first three cycles and we owe them a debt of gratitude."
That's true, but we're going to miss Shakira and Usher!
Don't worry, though, the show's executive producer Mark Burnett hinted that we haven't seen the last of the two replacement judges. "I am so thrilled that our Voice family has grown from four coaches to six," he said.
The network has also hinted that the panel will rotate between the six in seasons to come, so we're excited to see what the future holds!
