After fracturing his neck while rehearsing for his UK tour last year, Jason Derulo is back with a hit single and an upcoming second album. Jason Derulo is back.

After fracturing his neck during a rehearsal for his U.K. tour in Florida earlier last year, the R&B singer has returned to the music game with the release of his new single and an upcoming second album.

In terms of what fans can expect from his next album, set to hit stores in September, 23-year-old Jason told us, "I've grown up a lot."

"I had a very traumatic experience--one that could've left me paralyzed or worse," Jason said at KIIS-FM's Wango Tango, referring to fracturing his neck last year while rehearsing for his UK tour. "So, my perspective on life has changed a lot and I always write music based on my life so the perspective is different."

"I'm a man, so the music is more grown up," he continued. "I look more grown up. It's been a year and some change that I've been working on this album, so it's something that I'm really excited to share."

We're excited to hear it.

Jason released the music video for his new hit single "The Other Side" just a couple of weeks ago. Take a look here!
