The 2013 CMT Awards are fast approaching, so we're taking a stroll down memory lane to look at the best and worst dressed of all time from the event.

There are always red carpet hit and misses and we've got the scoop on our faves and fails...

Best Dressed: Carrie Underwood sparkles in a glamorous mini on the 2012 CMT red carpet--we love Carrie in the flirty and fun style, with her hair long and flowing.

Worst Dressed: Nicole Kidman really missed the mark in her 2011 CMT fashion choice, taking on a mishmash of color and design, plus pairing it with shoes that didn't tie anything together.

Best Dressed: Taylor Swift picked a fun style for the 2010 CMT Awards, sporting a gorgeous dark red mini dress with the most adorable shoes. Her hair and makeup really pulled the fun look together too.

Worst Dressed: We don't even know where to begin with LeAnn Rimes' 2010 CMT red carpet look, which missed the mark in so many ways--including the odd patterned fabric, atrocious belt and styling that was less than flattering.

Best Dressed: Kristen Bell hit a red carpet home run with her 2012 CMT Awards dress! The gorgeous color and body hugging style made her literally the golden girl of the arrivals.

Worst Dressed: We think Shania Twain's 2011 CMT Awards dress could have been punched up just a tiny bit, since it looked so drab and ordinary. We're hoping 2013 brings a much hotter look for the always-gorgeous Shania.

Best Dressed: Jordin Sparks showed off her beautiful curves in this gorgeous flowing dress at the 2012 CMT Music Awards. We can't get enough of Jordin in that color--perfection!

Worst Dressed: Hot Chelle Rae were a hot mess on the 2012 CMT Awards' red carpet! Can we talk about those pants? Actually...it's probably better to never speak of them again.

Check out all of the best and worst dressed from CMT Music Awards' history in the pics above.

Tune in June 5 for the 2013 CMT Music Awards, airing at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CMT.
