Teen Wolf's season 3 premieres tonight on MTV, and Holland Roden gives us the scoop, saying the show "is really taking a darker turn." Before Teen Wolf's season three premieres Monday, Holland Roden is giving us the scoop on what's to come.
The 26-year-old actress, who plays Lydia Martin on the MTV show, said Teen Wolf picks up on a time lapse of four months, after she had accepted Jackson Whittemore (Colton Haynes) for the werewolf he's become.
"There's a ton of new characters on the show, most of them are adults, so [the show] is really taking a darker turn," Holland said. "It sort of skews away from the high school aspect."
And speaking of dark, what can we expect for Lydia and Stiles' topsy-turvy relationship this season?
"I feel like Stiles (Dylan O'Brien) and Lydia are the same person, they're two sides of the same coin," she went on. "She's the Carmen San Diego of the season with Stiles. Their friendship really grows and they become a tight knit little duo."
"I love [working with] Dylan because it's been a lot of fun showing up and having four really different dynamic scenes with him," Holland continued. "We'll be funny one scene, and then scary one scene, then potential love interests in a scene. So, [Lydia] is in on the action this season. She's not by herself wandering off in the woods and crying."
So, how is Holland different from her character in real life?
"I'm a wanna-be type A in real life," Holland quipped. "I have this idea of I just need to get there. I just need to try a little harder. But, I fail miserably at trying hard. Clearly, Lydia succeeds at being the type A. So, I would say that's the biggest difference."
Teen Wolf's season 3 premieres tonight on MTV at 10/9c.
