After forming the supergroup TGT in 2007, Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank are finally ready to release their debut album! Check out what Tyrese had to say about his experience going from a solo artist to a member of a group. Powerhouse R&B singers Tyrese, Tank and Ginuwine are now known as the group TGT.
The former solo artists formed the supergroup back in 2007, but weren't able to release any music due to contractual obligations...until now.
With their upcoming Three Kings album set to be released this summer and a new single on the airwaves, Tyrese gave us lowdown on what it's like to be in a group for the first time.
"[Tank and Ginuwine] are two of my R&B soldiers," Tyrese told us. "We've all been solo our whole careers and we showed up to form a supergroup-to tour and create the ultimate live music experience of having the three of us on stage."
Tyrese, who said he and his other two groupmates have been "best friends for the past 12 years," added that while being a solo artist "has its benefits," he's also gotten a lot of satisfaction out of having Tank and Ginuwine on stage with him.
"Being able to collaborate and look to your left and your right and see some other guys fired up and enjoying the music they way that we do with a live band, it just takes the experience to another level," Tyrese continued.
The group recently released the music video for their debut single in May called, "Sex Never Felt Better."
"I think good sex makes the world go round," Tyrese said of the song. "It's like it takes all your problems away. It's the best form of therapy."
Three Kings is set to hit stores July 23.
