Kim Kardashian said in an interview while she was pregnant that she was not considering the name "North West" for her child, which is ultimately what she and rapper boyfriend Kanye West ended up naming the baby. By now we all know that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West decided to name their daughter North West.
Before Kim gave birth, rumors were swirling that North was the name the duo was considering for their child, with a source telling The Sun, "Kanye's ego is something else...He also has a sense of humor though and knows how his self-indulgence is seen by the general public. It's half tongue-in-cheek..."
However, the rumors were quickly put to rest back in March after Kim appeared on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and he asked if they were considering the directional name.
When discussing the list of possible baby names for the child, Jay Leno asked Kim point blank about "North" as a potential baby name.
"This is one of these stupid internet rumors," he said, before Kim interrupted him saying there are always rumors. "Well, one was that Kanye wanted to name the baby "North" so that it would be "North West," Jay continued.
Kim laughed it off and said, "Um, that is not true...that is not one of the names on the list," before saying that she did think the name "Easton" was cute so that the child would have been "Easton West."
Watch the video below to see Kim's reaction when Jay asked about the name.
Do you think Kim changed her mind about the name "North" or do you think she was just trying to throw everybody off?
