This is just not the season for the Marins.
After Hanna got busted last week, Hanna's mom, Ashley, gets taken into custody this week for Detective Wilden's murder.
And there was way more drama waiting to unfold on this episode of Pretty Little Liars--starting with Spencer and Toby's trip to Ravenswood to track down former sorority house mother Mrs. Grunwald, who 'A' had possibly been calling.
When they do find Grunwald in a hair salon though, she denies she's ever seen Vivian or Alison or that she's Grunwald, adding, "I'm not who you think I am."
For the most part, Spencer and Toby's excursion proved to be a bust, until they see Shana (!) jump into Jenna's car (right before a dead raven smashes into their car's windshield). This Shana sighting came after Shana transferred to Rosewood and took Emily's spot on the swim team...which makes us wonder why (and how) she keeps popping up everywhere?
On top of the chaos in Ravenswood, one of Mike (Aria's brother)'s friends causes major drama for Aria back in Rosewood. After she agrees to help him with his homework, he tells everyone they hooked up. Things get worse when Aria confronts him in a locker room about his lies, and he starts taunting her about her past relationship with high school teacher Ezra (loudly) and calls her a slut. And if that wasn't embarrassing enough, Ezra just so happens to hear that convo.
Meanwhile, Hanna got released on bail, but that didn't mean she or Ashley were totally out of trouble. In what seemed like too little, too late, Ashley finally starts opening up a little about her suspicious behavior. She admits, at least, that she took Hanna's father's gun, but says she did not kill Wilden...and Hanna finally believes her.
Unfortunately, while the duo's family camaraderie was nice, it was no match for the cops, who soon took Ashley into custody for Wilden's murder.
