Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder were both at Comic-Con 2013 in San Diego this weekend, but according to a new report, they avoided each other in the press room and things got even worse during 'The Vampire Diaries' panel. The Vampire Diaries co-stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev have been relatively quiet about their split in May.

In fact, we weren't even sure if they had actually seen each other since their shocking breakup news broke.

While they had both returned to the set of Vampire Diaries earlier this month, their social media posts seemed to suggest that their appearances were actually on different days.

This weekend at Comic-Con, however, there was no getting around the fact that they had to be in the same place...at the same time and it sounds like there was definitely some tension between the two.

According to E! News, The Vampire Diaries stars avoided each other in the press room and then things got even more uncomfortable during the show panel.

Their source spilled that Nina jokingly asked, "Is there anyone Elena hasn't made out with?" and when an audience member said "Me!" Ian said, "Give me your number. I'll set you up."

Apparently, his joke didn't land well and it just added to the already thick tension between the two.

We understand why Nina wouldn't be thrilled with her ex making a joke like that, but do you think it was ill-intentioned or was he just trying to cut the tension?
