The Royal baby has arrived! Kate Middleton and Prince William have just welcomed their son. This is the first child for the couple who married in 2011. Kate Middleton and Prince William (also known as The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) will now be known as "mom" and "dad" to a lucky little boy.

A Royal aide outside the hospital announced that the proud parents welcomed their son at 4:24 p.m. and that he weighed in at 8 pounds and 6 ounces.

The baby was born at St. Mary's Hospital in London (the same hospital where both William and brother Harry were born). The official birth announcement, posted outside the hospital, says that "Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."

The birth was highly anticipated by both Royal watchers and the general public alike and photographers did not want to miss the opportunity to photograph any activity surrounding the big event. Chairs have been set up outside the hospital since July 9 where the eager photogs wasted no time staking out their spots.

While no official photo has been released yet, it is believed that the couple will follow in Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana's footsteps and pose for pictures with the baby on the hospital steps.

This is the first child for Kate and William who were married in 2011.
