Lady Gaga will officially be returning to the stage on August 25 to perform the first single off her highly-anticipated 'ARTPOP' album. Gaga was forced to take a break from performing during her "Born This Way" ball tour in February when she had to undergo hip surgery. Finally! Lady Gaga will be returning to the stage this summer.

The "Born This Way" singer hasn't performed since she had to call off her tour in February in order to undergo hip surgery.

So, what's better than Gaga hitting the stage for the first time in five months?

How about Gaga performing the first single off of her highly-anticipated 'ARTPOP' album?!

MTV just made the announcement on their Twitter page in a post that read: "BREAKING! #VMAs performer just announced: http://instagram.com/p/cMo8yaH9Mw/ No sleep til 8/25!"

The post linked to an Instagram video where MTV VJ Sway was standing with a crowd of people who cheered after he made the announcement.

The song Gaga will be performing is still reportedly unnamed, but there was a recent leak online of a track believed to be from the album.
