Cody Simpson chatted with us on the red carpet at this year's Teen Choice Awards and told us who he was excited to see perform that night, what kind of music he grew up listening to and what he's been up to lately.

He mentioned he was excited for Florida Georgia Line to hit the stage. "I've had that song [Cruise] stuck in my head for at least 2 months now! My bus driver on tour always cruises down the highway to it."

But is Cody a fan of country? "I grew up on country music," Cody shared. "But I sort of decided to discover a lot of other genres and it was less of an interest in me, but I started to come back around to it." We'd be very excited to hear some country from him! Would you?

Cody has been everywhere for his Paradise Tour, but, "I'm here in LA for 3 days. Shooting a music video tomorrow," he told us. "It's called 'La Da Dee', it's for the new Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 movie."

Have you heard his second single, "La Da Dee"? We think it's the perfect theme song for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2!
