Britney Spears appeared on 'Good Morning America' this morning to officially announce her Las Vegas show, but it was her defense of Miley Cyrus' VMA performance that really raised a lot of eyebrows... Britney Spears was on Good Morning America today, where she officially announced her Las Vegas show.

Unfortunately, the details of her surprise were leaked early online, so it wasn't as thrilling as BritBrit hoped it would be.

One thing that did get everyone's attention, though, was Britney's defense of Miley Cryus' raunchy VMA performance.

"I think any time you do a performance that is memorable, you're going to have criticism," she said. "I think she's doing her thing, being herself. So I give props to her."

So, not only does she not condemn it, she gives "props" to Miley.

Of course, there is the fact that they are collaborating on a song together, so it stands to reason that Britney would jump to Miley's defense--and Britney is certainly no stranger to sexy publicity stunts, especially earlier in her career.

In fact, it might have been a little hypocritical if Britney had criticized it, but we thought maybe becoming a mom might have changed some of her views about such things.

Guess not.

Are you surprised that Britney approved of Miley's performance?
