With Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic hosting E!'s Live From the Red Carpet, we knew those two seasoned pros would give us something to talk about and they definitely didn't disappoint.
In fact, our first funny quote comes from Ryan himself.
1. Ryan's Color Conundrum
First, Ryan is trying to compliment co-host Giuliana Rancic on her new hair color and as he's trying to describe the "nutmeg" color, he opts for saying it's a "Nutella color." At first, Giuliana is taken aback and then it kinda grows on her and she adopts that as her new description for her hair.
Ryan also had another color slip-up when he was telling Tim Gunn about Heidi Klum's "purple" dress, which wasn't really purple at all. Fortunately, Tim stepped in with the color correction before they went on camera, by telling Ryan that it was "pomegranate." We'd actually go with bergundy, but whatever! Being the good sport that he is, Ryan re-told the story on camera, anyway!
2. Hilarious Halloween Costume
Tim Gunn didn't only help Ryan Seacrest with his color confusion, he also provided us a funny moment of his own when he was being asked what his costume would be for Heidi Klum's notorious Halloween party.
After giving it some thought, he decided he would have some fun with it and said he would be a whoopee cushion because he's "an old fart." LOL! We are so hoping he follows through with that!
3. Breaking the Bank
The Breaking Bad crew was super popular on the red carpet and they provided no shortage of quotable quotes. Our favorite came from Anna Gunn when she was talking about her character Skylar's fashion on the show.
She was asked if she prefers Skylar's "mom jeans" style or the glammed-up look she was sporting on the carpet.
Anna joked that she always wondered why "Skylar couldn't just once use some of the drug money to buy herself...a gown that's pretty."
That sounds like a fair enough question...we wonder what the writers would say about that?
4. Huge Slice of Humble Pie
Modern Family is one of the most popular shows on television right now, but if you think the actors are arrogant about their superstar status, think again.
Eric Stonestreet is one who hasn't forgotten where he came from. In previous interviews, he has discussed what a struggle it was before he landed the role of Cameron on the hit show. Even tonight, as he walked the red carpet as a nominee, he said, "There are no words to describe it [getting the gig], it is the culmination of 13 years of going every day to auditions and trying my best...it was all my dreams coming true in one moment."
He also discussed the moving speech he gave last year on the same subject, saying, "That speech last year was to let everybody know that if you take your job serious, you can eventually end up here...it's possible. We live in a town where lightning does strike and you can be in the right place at the right time."
Ed O'Neill shared a similar sentiment when he was asked if he thought he would win an award and he humbly said, "It would be nice to win, of course, but you can't expect to win. The odds are 5:1, so...I would love to win an Emmy of course, but we're here to have a good time."
5. To Twerk or Not to Twerk
Elisabeth Moss was talking about how she had Miley Cyrus' haircut before Miley did, but since Miley is "way more famous" than she is, it became "the Miley Cyrus," and she was like "no! I did not copy her."
Naturally, that led to a discussion about Miley's infamous twerking and whether or not Elisabeth would be copying that at an after party. "I don't even know what that is," she replied. "I don't know what this thing...people keep saying this to me and I don't even know what it is."
Don't worry, Elisabeth...ignorance is bliss on that one!
What was your favorite moment from this year's Emmys red carpet?
