'Teen Mom' star Amber Portwood has been in jail since June 2012, where she actually volunteered for the five-year prison sentence after failing to compete a drug rehabilitation program... So much for Amber Portwood's five-year prison sentence!

The Teen Mom star went to jail in June 2012 when she volunteered for the strict sentence after failing to complete her court-ordered drug rehabilitation program.

While it seemed pretty extreme to choose prison over rehab, Amber felt that this move would save her life--and it looks like she's definitely on the right track.

Amber has been doing very well in prison and has even been teaching anger management classes to other inmates.

Now, after serving less than a third of her sentence, Wetpaint is reporting that Amber is set to be released on November 6, 2013.

It will definitely be good for Amber to see her daughter and get to spend more time with her, but Amber's ex (and baby daddy) Gary Shirley is seeing a new woman now, which might not help matters at all, considering how volatile Amber and Gary's relationship has been in the past.

Hopefully she already knows about it and is working through whatever emotions she might be experiencing before she is released.
