Demi Lovato Names Ed Sheeran, Paramore Among Musical Inspirations
See what Demi Lovato says about musical influences like Ed Sheeran, Paramore, Justin Timberlake, Drake and more, plus what she has planned for her upcoming Neon Lights concert tour with Little Mix and Fifth Harmony. Demi Lovato's career is red hot right now, but who does she look to for inspiration?
Turns out, she's into some of our faves too: Ed Sheeran, Paramore, Drake, and Bon Iver, among others.
In a new Billboard.com interview, she explains, "I'm always a fan of Paramore, but lately I've been listening to a lot of Ed Sheeran and Bon Iver."
Those artists aside, Demi said she's also into 90s music like "Salt-N-Pepa, Boyz II Men, some Mariah, some Whitney."
She counts Justin Timberlake, Drake, and Bruno Mars among her favorites as well.
Demi noted, "I love the new Drake song, 'Hold On, We're Going Home.' We need more of that on the radio. Things Bruno Mars and Justin [Timberlake] are doing have me excited for radio."
Demi also chatted about her upcoming Neon Lights tour with Little Mix and Fifth Harmony and while we're betting it'll be a lot of fun (she says "I want it to be a big party"), she says she's still "figuring it out."
She doesn't want it to be just about her pop hits either, saying, "But that's the message I want people to hear, that there's more than catchy songs released as singles. The album tracks should get more attention. That's why Ed Sheeran is so inspiring--it's not just about pop songs."
Who's going to see Demi on tour? Do you think Demi and Ed should record a duet (we say yes!)?
