Past and present Gleek-mates will honor his character, Finn Hudson, the McKinley High School quarterback. Listen to the songs from the special tribute episode now, including "Seasons of Love," "I'll Stand by You," "If I Die Young" and "Make You Feel My Love."
Cory, who publicly fought addiction, passed away in July after an alcohol and drug overdose at age 31.
Glee creator Ryan Murphy promises that this Glee episode will not explain nor focus on the details of Finn's death, but instead serve as a celebration of Finn and Cory's lives.
In the preview for "The Quarterback," students gather at Finn's high school locker with a memorial displaying some of his favorite items and his football helmet. Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) is also seen comforting an extremely sad Rachel (Lea Michele), who is Finn's girlfriend.
According to Spoiler TV, Mr. Schue encourages current and former members of New Directions to remember Finn through song. But Will's focus on taking care of others makes Emma concerned that he is not taking care of himself nor allowing time to grieve for Finn.
There is some transition from sadness to emotional reflection when the Hudson-Hummel family, Kurt (Chris Colfer), Burt Hummel (Mike O'Malley) and Carole Hudson-Hummel (Romy Rosemont), go through Finn's belongings.
Meanwhile, Glee's diva, Santana (Naya Rivera), works to hide her feelings for Finn while going head-to-head against Bree, who is morphing into a Santana-esque character.
As for Rachel, she only appears in the final act, meeting Will in the choir room to hang a plaque of Finn and share it with the rest of glee club.
Given all of the emotional elements of this special episode, it makes sense that there will be a 4-week break, as Glee returns November 7 for the "A Katy or a Gaga" episode.
