Melissa McCarthy is the November 2013 cover girl for 'Elle' magazine and we think she looks absolutely gorgeous. The problem, some say, is that she is too covered up. Sometimes celebrities take heat for showing too much skin.

In this case, it's exactly the opposite as people are upset over Melissa McCarthy's Elle cover, claiming that the mag was wrong to try to cover up the curvy actress in a big trench coat, which far from celebrates her figure.

While the 43-year-old actress looks absolutely gorgeous on the cover of "The Women in Hollywood" issue, we can only see her from the neck up, save for the little bit of calf she's showing at the bottom.

There has been so much controversy surrounding the cover, which was released online last week, Elle finally issued a statement addressing the matter, saying:

"On all of our shoots, our stylists work with the stars to choose pieces they feel good in, and this is no different: Melissa loved this look, and is gorgeous on our cover. We are thrilled to honor her as one of our Women in Hollywood this year."

They also cite a segment that aired on Good Morning America this morning, where the quote Melissa's reps as saying that she "loves" the cover and that the actress actually picked out the coat herself.

Do you think Elle should have put Melissa in something a little more sexy?
