On the day his MTV Artist to Watch tour was set to kick off last week, the 17-year-old singer was rushed to the hospital instead. The "What About Love" singer was suffering from a 104 degree fever, extreme inflammation in his throat and a blood clot!
"I've never felt so bad," he Tweeted at the time, along with a photo of himself in a hospital gown hooked up to an IV.
Obviously, his shows couldn't go on as scheduled since he was hospitalized, and the entire tour ended up being rescheduled for next year instead.
But the good news is Austin is now out of the hospital and feeling better. "He's unable to sing or work, but he's on the mend," his rep says. The singer was spotted at a Fort Lauderdale drugstore stocking up on snacks wearing a bright yellow hoodie and shoes.
At least he managed to keep a positive attitude throughout the ordeal. "It's never too late," he just Tweeted. "A determined mind and a positive attitude will increase your ability to achieve and succeed any goal you want in life."
That's the spirit!
