Oscar-nominated actress Abigail Breslin is back on the big screen just in time for Halloween in a new horror movie, Haunter, now in theaters. Abigail talked to us about the film, her Halloween plans and acting in her first horror flick.

The young actress is a big fan of scary movies. She says The Shining, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane and The Exorcist are her all-time favorites.

"I've always loved the horror genre, it's been my favorite genre for a long time, so I've always wanted to do something in it," said Abigail. "This movie came along and I just thought that it was a really smart, clever, unique take on a horror movie and a ghost story."

Abigail stars in the movie as Lisa Johnson, a teenager who was murdered in the '80s, but is still trapped inside her house unable to move on, doomed to live the day she died over and over.

"You never see blood, which I think is interesting. It's kind of a reverse ghost story. It's the girl who's dead being haunted by the living," said Abigail. "That's kind of a unique story that I don't think we've really seen a lot of before."

Despite her new movie and love of horror flicks, Abigail plans on dressing up as something sweet rather than scary this Halloween.

"My friends and I were talking about being The Powerpuff Girls," said Abigail. "I want to be Khaleesi from Game of Thrones, that's what I really want to be."

If the 17-year-old actress and her friends decide to dress up as The Powerpuff Girls, Abigail said she would be Bubbles, because she has blonde hair, of course!

"I don't want to go to a Halloween party, I want to go trick-or-treating, but I feel like I'm just too old, and that's very sad," she said. "I need to find some little kid to convince to take trick-or-treating."

Haunter is in theaters in New York and Los Angeles now.
