The singer racked up an assault charge after he allegedly punched a man in the face outside of a hotel in Washington D.C., and will be in the rehab facility as his next court date approaches.
"Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility," his rep said in a statement to CNN Tuesday night. "His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point."
According to TMZ, Chris checked in to a facility in Malibu for anger management.
The "Don't Wake Me Up" crooner faced a judge Monday following his arrest, who reduced his felony assault charge to misdemeanor assault.
Chris was then released from prison and ordered to report to his probation officer in 48 hours.
Although the charge was reduced, it is still a huge deal for Chris because it could violate his probation from his felony domestic violence conviction (for his attack on former girlfriend Rihanna). According to TMZ, a judge could sentence him to up to four years in prison.
He is due back in court Nov. 20 for a probations status hearing.
Before Chris checked into rehab, his girlfriend Karrueche Tran posted a shot of them kissing on her Instagram page, along with the caption "Always & Forever."
The photo surfaced after rumors the on-again, off-again couple had split again last week.
