Although the Keeping Up With the Kardashians matriarch and the former Olympian announced their split about a month ago, Kris said they won't be getting a divorce.
"I adore Bruce. Bruce and I are and will remain best friends," Kris told longtime friend Kathy Lee Gifford in a podcast interview. We're just separated, we're not divorcing."
"We are better people and happier just spending time apart than we are spending time together," she continued. So, we decided this was best for our family and our situation."
Kris said she and Bruce have still been spending a lot of time together in spite of the separation, working together every day, talking on the phone every day and still going out to dinner.
"I would rather have him in my life as a friend, than not in my life at all," she continued. "I think what happens is you come to a place where this isn't healthy, the way we were treating each other."
The duo was spotted out together with the rest of their family Monday, after celebrating Bruce's birthday with a special dinner.
