Adam Lambert stormed his way into the Glee universe as "Starchild" by singing Lady Gaga's "Marry the Night." Everyone in the New York crew instantaneously fell in love with "Starchild," except for Kurt. Adam Lambert finally stormed his way into the Glee universe, making his much-anticipated debut as Elliott "Starchild" Gilbert.

Everyone in the New York crew, Dani (Demi Lovato), Santana (Naya Rivera) and Rachel (Lea Michele), instantaneously fell in love with him, except for Kurt (Chris Colfer). Starchild was a tour-de-force as he took the stage to try out for Kurt's new Madonna cover band.

While the gang back in Lima were tackling Katy Perry or Lady Gaga songs, Starchild killed it with his rendition of Gaga's "Marry the Night." Santana and Demi wanted Starchild in, but Kurt was not sold on his audition, deeming it too over-the-top with the costume and make-up, but secretly it seems Kurt is afraid that Starchild will outshine him.

After a discussion with Rachel, Kurt faces his fear of being the least successful of his friends. Kurt changes his mind after he realizes that if he wants to be a star and his band to be successful, it would be better to have Starchild on board. Concerned that he doesn't have a way to contact him, Kurt gets lucky when Starchild stops by the diner and the two sit down to talk during Kurt's shift.

A stripped down, make-up free Starchild confirms that it is his dream to join an indie band and that he is willing to tone it down. He tells Kurt that he's from New Jersey and he goes to NYU because he wasn't accepted into NYADA, which makes Kurt feel better. The conversation ends with Kurt offering Starchild membership in the group. The episode wraps with Rachel reluctantly joining the yet unnamed group while they all sing Katy Perry's "Roar."
