We talked to our friend Eric Dash, who will be opening for Kendall Schmidt's band Heffron Drive in the winter, about his new single, his upcoming album and what he's most excited for when he hits the road.
"This is my first full blown out tour!" Eric told us. "I'm excited for all my firsts. I don't know what they are yet, but I'm excited to just meet all my fans. This is an opportunity that I've never had before."
So how did Eric's big break come about? When Kendall's team heard his single "One More Love Song" on the radio, they felt he was a good fit for the tour. "It kind of just happened," said Eric.
On the heels of "One More Love Song" is Eric's newest track, "Ms. Sally Jones." The music video debuted on VEVO yesterday. He's also working on finishing up his debut album, My Own Island. "We don't know when it's going to be released, but it'll be 10-12 songs," said Eric. "I'm hoping mid next year."
Though he hasn't met Kendall yet, "I'm a fan of Big Time Rush," Eric told us. "I looked into Heffron Drive, and I knew who Kendall was and I was completely stoked for it." Grateful for this opportunity, Eric can't wait for the tour. "I'm happy to be a part of it," he said. "An opening act--the definition in my head is to get the crowd ready for the main act, and I'm excited to be getting them pumped up!"
The tour kicks off on Nov. 23 in Houston, but click here to see when they're coming to a city near you.
