After the Voice's live show wrapped Tuesday, the host gave us the scoop on what he has in store...and it turns out he and Voice judge Blake Shelton have something in common: they both can cook!
"I'm smoking a turkey in a Green Egg, it'll take six hours," Carson told us of the meal he plans to whip up. "I'm using some apple smoked wood chips, I'm using an Adam Perry Lang recipe who's a great barbecue king. I just bought a new barbeque set on Amazon. I'm ready to go."
Perhaps its time for a Carson-Blake cooking challenge?
Chef skills aside, the Today Show host told us his Italian dad generally provides some comedic entertainment whenever the holidays hit.
"It's always funny how [my dad] always has to have a couple of Italian meals at Thanksgiving," Carson said. "I always find it funny that there's spaghetti on the table, my dad eats his salad last, so there's little things like that that are funny to me. With my dad being Italian and my mom being southern, when it clashes on Thanksgiving it's become a new, rich tradition for us."
As for whether he's ever had a nightmarish thanksgiving, Carson said he hasn't had "anything crazy" happen to him yet, but he did have to work on Thanksgiving when he was first starting out in radio as a board operator in Los Angeles.
While that wasn't a pleasant experience, someone did help make his day special while he worked the shift.
"The big time afternoon disc jockey came in and brought me a home cooked Thanksgiving dinner. It was something I never forgot."
