Another sign of progress? A judge in an LA mental health court deems the troubled starlet mentally fit to stand trial for her DUI case Amanda BynesMost people don't want to go to court for a DUI charge, but for Amanda Bynes, it's actually a good thing.

The actress, who's been in treatment since being placed a mandatory 5150 psychiatric hold back in July, has been declared mentally fit to stand trial in her DUI arrest from 2012 by an LA mental health court judge, according to TMZ.

Back in September, her lawyer argued the 27-year-old wasn't mentally capable to understand the legal proceedings of a trial, so it's a positive sign that she's improved enough to stand trial. However, TMZ reports that she'll likely file a plea bargain and avoid the case going in front of a jury.

Amanda, who's currently in a Malibu rehab facility after spending time at UCLA psych ward for schizophrenia, has made enough progress that she'll be released home to her parents before Christmas. But her mother will still be in charge through a temporary conservatorship that was granted back in August.

We wish Amanda the best in her recovery efforts!
