In this particular pic, however, the President is snapping a selfie while he and Michelle Obama attend the Nelson Mandela memorial service.

As for the First Lady, she appeared to be completely uninterested in the inopportune photo op.

Most of the reactions on Twitter were not positive, with people taking to the social media site to say it was "tasteless, rude" and a variety of other things, most of which were not complimentary.

"Obama acting like a juvenile at a state funeral taking a 'selfie'? Even for him, this is despicable," one user wrote.

"Who takes a selfie at a funeral?! So rude and disrespectful," another chimed in.
