The troubled reality star ended up in prison in June of last year after she failed to complete a court-ordered rehab sentence.
Of the five years she was supposed to serve in jail, Amber only had to stay for 17 months and now that she's a free woman again, she's ready to turn her life around.
"Before prison, I never thought about Leah. I was addicted to drugs and didn't care about anything else," she told In Touch weekly. "Prison saved my life - and gave me a second chance at being a mother."
Sounds like it was definitely a blessing in disguise.
Still, that doesn't mean there weren't some really trying times. "It felt like a nightmare," she said, of her time behind bars. "Feeling humiliated and vulnerable (from the strip search), you literally have nothing and walk around like a zombie...There were times I reached a breaking point."
According to all accounts, Amber did great in prison and was reportedly even teaching anger management classes to fellow inmates later in her sentence.
It's great to see that Amber has such a good attitude and is ready for a fresh start.
Do you think Amber has turned her life around?
