Is Ariana Grande going to quit her acting career to focus on her hugely successful music career? Find out what Ariana says is ahead after 'Sam & Cat.' Ariana Grande quitting acting
We love Ariana Grande on Sam & Cat, but have wondered if she will leave her acting career behind to pursue her love of music.

Turns out, the answer is yes.

Ariana told Complex magazine recently that her role as Cat Valentine has really just been a stepping stone to a bigger plan.

She explained, "I never liked acting. I auditioned for TV just to get a platform to get a record deal, but then I fell in love with acting because it was fun."

It's served her well, really. She went from a small ensemble role on Nickelodeon's Victorious and became the star of a spinoff.

Not too shabby for just a stepping stone, really.

We don't know when Sam & Cat will end, but it will likely end Ariana's acting career when it wraps up.

She explained, "After I'm done playing Cat Valentine I don't see myself doing much acting. But I would like to do a scary movie, or a musical."

Musical. Yes, please.

UPDATE: Ariana took to Twitter to clear up all the rumors, writing: "apparently I'm "retiring from acting" but that's not true. :) just thought I'd clear that up, definitely a rumor... moooorning loves"
