Simon Cowell told us that 'X Factor' winners Alex and Sierra actually have been receiving the most votes every week! Simon Cowell has done it again!

His act Melanie Amaro won season 1 of X Factor in 2011, and two seasons later Simon hits the jackpot once more with Alex and Sierra! They came in first place and won the million dollar recording contract with Sony Music and Syco Records.

"I'm really happy," Simon told us, "and I'm happy for them." With the extra good news he found out after the show from the producers, it would be hard not to be! "I would say I'm relieved to be honest with you. We found out that they actually won every week, but the gap was closing."

We can't say we're surprised that Alex and Sierra won over America each time they hit the stage. "In a way I'm glad we didn't know," Simon said. "It makes you fight harder and like I said, apart from being incredibly talented they're just great people. Today I realized how much they wanted it."

It was quite evident that even if the duo didn't win, Simon would have signed them anyway. "Some of these contestants knew they were going to get record deals, they're not stupid," he said. "You don't go to No. 1 on iTunes two weeks in a row and not get a record contract." It's been a great season for many reasons, but what really set it apart? "I'd say the contestants," Simon told us. "It's an obvious thing to say, but Alex and Sierra defined the series this year. Without them, it wouldn't have been as good."

We second that!
