Ke$ha shocked her fans on Friday morning when she checked into a rehab facility to get help for an eating disorder. Unfortunately, it sounds 2013 American Music Awards - ShowKe$ha shocked her fans on Friday morning when the seemingly carefree star checked into a rehab facility to get help for an eating disorder.

"I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I've found it hard to practice," the singer said in a statement to E! News. "I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder ... to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am."

Unfortunately, it sounds like there was at least one outside influence that caused Ke$ha to be extra critical of her appearance.

According to TMZ, the star blames her music producer, Dr. Luke, for her eating disorder, saying that he told her she looked like a "f**king refrigerator" during a 2012 music video shoot.

Dr. Luke apparently even went so far as to try to get her management team to "do something about it," the site reports.

As if women (especially in Hollywood) don't have enough pressure on them to look a certain way, we can't even imagine how hurtful those comments must have been, especially coming from her own producer.

We wish Ke$ha all the best in her recovery.
