Kristen Stewart sported a new braided hairstyle at the premiere of her new film Camp X-Ray at Sundance...but was the Twilight star's 'do a hit or miss? Kristen Stewart tried out a new 'do at the Sundance premiere of her new film Camp X-Ray.

The Twilight star rocked a couple of braids on one side of her hair, leaving the other part straight when she hit the carpet for the film's debut Friday.

Instead of going glam, Robert Pattinson's ex kept her attire casual, wearing grungy skinny jeans, a striped shirt, a black coat and some funky boots.

In the drama flick, K. Stew plays Amy Cole, a rookie guard at Guantanamo Bay detention center who strikes up a friendship with a prisoner.

"It had been two years since I worked, but it wasn't my choice to take a break," the 23-year-old actress told the Los Angeles Times. "But nothing had given me that compulsion, nothing that made me feel it was meant for me to do."

That is, until the script for Camp X-Ray came along.

"The character seemed so whole to me," she continued. "It was very emotional and a genuine fresh perspective on something current. It had everything I look for in a project."

The independent flick was a far cry from her days on the big budget sets of Twilight.

Camp X-Ray "was a tiny little movie," Stewart said, with a million-dollar budget and a five-week shooting schedule.

What do you think about K. Stew's braided 'do?
