After winning two Grammys, the New Zealand born "Royals" singer runs a full page ad in her local newspaper thanking fans for their support Despite being rattled by the New Zealand paparazzi that mobbed her at the airport after returning home post-Grammys, Lorde still has plenty of love for her home country.
Case in point? The handwritten letter the 17-year-old "Royals" singer ran in the New Zealand Herald as a full page ad after she scored two Grammys on Sunday.
"If you're reading this, Joel [her songwriting partner] & I won. HOLY CRAP," she begins. "It was a crazy day and my friends and family over here are still freaking out. I just wanted to say thank you for the time you've given me these past 14 months."
"Without your support, there's no way I would ever have gotten to stand in the middle of the Staples Centre and perform in my school shoes," Lorde writes.
Pretty cool way to thank your fans, don't you think?
