Farrah Abraham Opens Up About Her Painful Past

It's not often that Farrah Abraham really, truly surprises us, but this admission is not only surprising--it's also incredibly sad.

In a new interview with In Touch weekly, the reality star says that she's a rape survivor.

"I was drugged and raped more than once. I allowed the [wrong] type of people into my life." Farrah also said that it was a "very dark time" when she was doing the strip club and porn convention appearances after her sex tape release, saying she put herself in unsafe situations.

So, is she saying that being drugged and raped happened sometime between the sex tape and now...or was it something from her past and she realizes that she put herself in unsafe situations where something bad could have happened again?

Either way, it's tragic.

The 22-year-old also told the mag that her parents used to beat her, leaving her with cuts, bruises and scars, if she acted out. "I needed to stop the abuse," she says, of a 2010 incident where she had a particularly bad fight with her mother.

If that is the same incident her mother was arrested for in January of that year, Farrah's mom was reportedly arrested and charged with assault and it was noted that there were "multiple cuts to the right side of the victim's mouth."

Fortunately, it seems like she's patched things up with her parents since that dark time.

She is currently appearing on VH1's Couples Therapy and hopefully they are able to help her with those things, in addition to the "relationship counseling." There has been some controversy surrounding her appearance on the show, with her "ex-boyfriend" claiming that they faked their entire relationship to get her on there in the first place, but all of that aside, hopefully they are able to help her heal from these difficult experiences.
