Leonardo DiCaprio claims he's never done drugs--listen up, young celebs trying to figure out your place in the world...
With Leo's recent role in The Wolf of Wall Street, his character is no stranger to drugs...the actor, it seems, is.
In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, he explained why he's never done them himself, saying, "Never done it. That's because I saw this stuff literally every day when I was 3 or 4 years old."
He added, "So Hollywood was a walk in the park for me...I'd go to parties and it was there and, yeah, there's that temptation. Hollywood is a very volatile place where artists come in and they essentially say they want to belong. It's incredibly vulnerable to be an actor and also get criticism at a young age when you're formulating who you are. We've seen a lot of people fall victim to that, and it's very unfortunate."
Leo did have his party boy days in the 90s, but drugs were never part of the deal.
So, where did Leo (and Jonah Hill) draw some of their acting inspiration for that Wolf Quaaludes scene?
Leo explained recently: "A lot of the research that I did really came from watching this one video on loop. It's called 'The Drunkest [Guy] in the World.' It's a man trying to get a beer, but his body doesn't quite [work]. That was a huge inspiration to me."
