Rihanna may be living large now, but in 2009, she was essentially bankrupt.
In legal docs reportedly obtained by TMZ, the "Stay" crooner claimed she had $11 million in cash at the beginning of that year, but later discovered she had only $2 million left by the end of it.
Rihanna's expenses had also doubled by then, which left her on the verge of bankruptcy.
The 25-year-old songstress is blaming her accountant for that discrepancy, saying he told her she could afford to buy a home that cost between $7 and $7 1/2 million. She did and later sold it at a $2 million loss, the site reported.
Rihanna filed suit against her former accounting firm-Berdon LLP-in 2012 for gross mismanagement, and the new docs were filed for that case.
Meanwhile, the firm told TMZ at the time in a statement that Rihanna's accusations are unfounded, and the Grammy winner's money loss were the result of her own actions and those working for her.
